I got into hockey rpf, and for me I think it's the ridiculously good writing.

You could prob go into any fic pairing and find well done fic for any type of relationship, dynamic etc. It's almost obscene how well done it is.

Combined with the fact it does well with college au's/frat boy/jock aesthetics— all very popular tropes to dabble in, it makes sense it's popular.

I'm not into hockey, but some writers I consider really good write it...so I read it.

I don't even know what the guys look like and sometimes it's better not to know. It's just fiction to me anyway.

Ahh, those are all tropes that do not appeal to me in the slightest. xD

But hey it seems like the people writing it are having fun so good for them.
