Wow... All I can really say is... Your fandom friends probably would want to know. I had a fandom friend and I knew she was dying... and then one day she was just gone. It was nice to have the warning but... It was a sick feeling when one day she just stopped talking to me and I would wonder if she was just very sick or already gone. I wished that there had been some way for me to know. This happened quite a few times and then finally I got word from a mutual friend that her grandparents had telephoned and well... she was gone.

Just don't think you haven't made an impact on others. You have and your fandom friends are going to want to know. And, I guess if you have an idea of when you're going to go... I'd make some sort of formal entry-- because it made me sick wondering if my friend was sick or gone. Not knowing just drove me up the wall... So trust me, they care about you more than you know.
