It does seem that way, and it's unfortunate. I think it's because a lot of younger people see media as some sort of god-given right for emotional support and personal values and not as... products that are there for you to sort through on your own. All media everywhere isn't obligated to present itself to you only in forms and with labels that you deem acceptable, and it's not a personal attack if it's not that easily categorized and digestible. Just because it's more work to figure out what you want to consume doesn't mean that people are being unfair to you.
