Isn't it downright scary that you have these people pretty much asking for the algorithm to work on them when we're over here desperately trying to escape it?

That they don't realise they're robbing themselves the opportunity to actually exercise their own agency and choosing to put these choices in the hands of others instead is... Well, it doesn't bode well for their emotional development or mental wellbeing -- or for our patience in dealing with this attitude in the long term...

It also doesn't bode well for them being able to do anything about the oppression they're so keen on ending. Handing your agency over to someone else gives them the power to hold you down.

I agree! And when you suggest that they volunteer for causes they believe in irl, instead of just complaining about media or fandom shit, they act like you are a monster or something.
