People weren't voting for Biden, they were voting for, you know, Not-Trump. And I think the only reason he got the nomination is that people thought of him as maybe Kinda-Sorta-Obama-Lite. He isn't, but that was a perception (and I have a bit of a beef with Obama over that - of all the old, white, Democratic men, he couldn't have chosen a running mate that he'd actually want to endorse some day?). It's really sad, because Biden wasn't even one of the top five of the Democratic nominees.

Want better than poison? Vote in every election, great or small, and research your candidates. You can weed out a lot of useless assholes early.

Yes, I realize it also depends if everyone else does the same and is well-informed (and no, simply "that side is evil!" or "both sides!" is not the well-informed stance people think it is in 2024, if they aren't digging past the surface). But if you can't fully change stuff at the federal level, at least you can have a bullshit buffer at the local and state levels.

Biden Sr is at least getting things done, like fixing our infrastructure. Considering that Congress is currently full of batshit crazy loons, I think he's actually doing pretty well.

And that if he gets back into power he has promised to institute a dictatorship and go after anyone who disagrees with him? And insitute a nationwide ban on abortion? Biden might not be ideal, but he's still far better than the alternative.

1. This is mindless hysteria. Nobody is going to allow the suspension of elections, not even Ginny Thomas. They are far too profitable.
2. This is what the OP is talking about. Even if this were true, and it is not, but if it were, then at least it'd be a Republican dictatorship and not a Democrat one. That is literally all that matters, that it isn't the Dems winning. As long the Democrats lose, the GOP voters will accept anything. You can't out scare them, because NOTHING, literally nothing, is scarier to the average Republican than the prospect of a Democratic Party Victory. You are going about this all wrong if you want to dissuade them of voting Trump. Stop playing up the secret Russian agent card, start talking about how Trump might really be a secret Democrat. While I do agree the tactics need to change, is it really mindless hysteria? Since you brought up Russia, they had an election recently. Is this the type of election you're referring to? The profitable yet totally fair one where the only qualified candidate magically gets 87% of the vote regardless of citizen support?

And despite so much anti-LGBTQ legislation and anti-abortion legislation being introduced and pushed through various states, it must be mass hysteria that anyone is concerned about further restrictions on the rights of people who aren't white cishet men.

For the record, stories about Trump are not directed at Republican voters who are still die-hard Trump in 2024. Why? They're a lost cause.
