The Animator's Survival Kit had a quote that stayed with me, and that I keep thinking about regarding not just art and creative systems, but about political systems in generals.

"Remember the golden rule: He who has the gold makes the rules. If you want to make your own art, use your own gold."

Years down the line, I would realize how poignant this quote is, due to Richard Williams himself having been a perfectionist for The Thief and the Cobbler while getting funding from everyone, only to later not want to speak about the project.
