I want to say that A+ Parenting tags lost all meaning when it started lumping in both kids' media parents who don't show up because they aren't important and canonical child abusers.

But there is one use I still get out of it: it's great at telling me that the only character the author thinks is important is the evil parent's kid and that everyone else will be written as flat as a pancake.

I've only ever seen this tag used sarcastically. Like "Hiward Stark's A+ parenting"

And isn't super nuanced, because some canons have abusers for a parent and some just absent

i thought the point was that it was a warning for how they view the parenting, so even if the absence is about doyalist/prioritizing screen time, in the fic, it's going to be A Thing.
