As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that secrets with lots of text are sometimes difficult to accommodate and I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space. Also, this is not the appropriate place to hold political debates or arguments about what is and is not fandom - those can go in the General Comments section as their own thread, no need to make it into a secret.

I like the Prince/Princess roles and Duels for the Rose Bride aspect of Revolutionary Girl Utena. I find it so sexy when Utena acts like a Prince and treats Anthy like a Princess. And Utena defending her position and her right to Anthy with the sword she pulled out of Anthy's breast is so goddamned satisfying. I wish there were an anime where that was the plot and it ended with a fairy tale happily ever after.

SB: That's completely antithetical to RGU. I didn't miss the point, I swear. Just... it's so hot. 😭

So. A while back, Thomas Kinkade Studios TM put out a bunch of Kinkade-style Disney artwork. It looks exactly the way you'd think it would, and is also comically expensive. A lot of fannish people were either righteously outraged or hardcore cringing over these Sam's Club specials. But honestly, I never found them any more cringey or awful than a typical fanart commission, and the Kinkade stuff has the advantage of being okay for me to make fun of. Secret because I'm pretty sure this makes me a terrible person.

It makes me sad that so many people won't read fic if it doesn't feature their OTP. I can't really blame them, you like what you like, but that sucks for rarepair and genfic writers. Especially in less active fandoms.

[Fandom - Frieren: Beyond the Journey's End]

This anime is critically acclaimed and pretty but SO BORING. I only watch it with a loved one and it was their choice, but I fall asleep every other episode. The only thing I find amusing is the character name "Heiter"

I want to say that A+ Parenting tags lost all meaning when it started lumping in both kids' media parents who don't show up because they aren't important and canonical child abusers.

But there is one use I still get out of it: it's great at telling me that the only character the author thinks is important is the evil parent's kid and that everyone else will be written as flat as a pancake.

I don't care how much tastes have changed, or how many decades have gone by, Connor's trophy room in his apartment in in Highlander will remain the coolest looking room ever.

I could really do with a good old fashioned "cosy catastrophe" show from the Beeb about now. One of those 70s style shows, all big woolly sweaters and posh birds pretending to be farmers style of shows. Maybe a John Mills type, running across a field in urgent panic.

I wish youtube would go back to just being for people putting popsongs over their fave anime series scenes, and maybe the odd weird passion project, instead of the corporatised ad-ridden hustle-pit that it is.

My favorite version of the Doctor Who logo and title sequence is the one from the McCoy era. I don't understand why everyone says they are The Worst. To me they are The Best.

I think that prologue text on A Matter Of Life And Death really weakens the movie.

Star Trek has always had an uneven record of tackling some real world issues, but I think that the Deep Space 9 episode "Sanctuary" is the best on-screen exploration of issues surrounding the founding of Modern Israel that the Franchise ever achieved.

I miss when the Warhammer 40K and Games Workshop artwork was wonky and weird as fucking shit, it is too polished and corporate now. Give me those first two edition weirdness.

I'll never forgive Moffat and Chibnall for ruining the Doctor Who Sixtieth Anniversary. I hope they manage to fix and retcon all the nonsense by time the 75th rolls around.

I wish they'd hurry up and release Joker 2, this long slow build up is killing me. Just get it in theaters so I can start hating it already and feel relief when it is out of theaters.

The problem I have with modern fandom is that modern authors just don't put enough meat on the bone of their books to be able to promote discussions. I'm not just talking about the character and plot, but the deeper metaphors references. There is nothing to keep fandom's interest and stop people getting bitchy and restless. Pratchett fandom never had that problem, except in February, because his books were always full of stuff to take apart.
