There is NO "death of the author" with JK Rowling - she controls and continues to profit from her IP, and uses that money to fund hate groups.

You may see having your Hogwarts house in your profile as no big deal, but you're signaling to every transphobic dick that you share their bigoted beliefs.

That’s not what that means.

The essay is less than ten pages, but I’ll admit that it isn’t in the most accessible language (either originally or in the translations I’ve seen).

Still, wikipedia gives a pretty clear and concise overview of the point of “death of the author”.
