Fellow trans F!S users, a question

(And please don't hesitate to tell Case to lock this if trolls come swarming)

Do you ever worry about, or have you ever experienced, others being aggressive not just to you but to your friends who gender you correctly? I've only come out to my immediate family and my best friends, and when I think about coming out entirely, I'm more worried about them getting shit from our mutual acquaintances for switching to referring to me by my correct gender and pronouns. If they give me shit that'll suck but it's my choice to be out, and it's about me. I don't want to make any problems I may get the problems of my friends and family too. Has anyone else had this worry or problem and what did you do about it?

I've never had this happen, no. Maybe I'm just lucky to live in a progressive area with a very understanding friend group but even random store clerks catch themselves and correct themselves willingly and politely if they slip (not paying attention, assuming based on something I'm wearing maybe). Like. I have never even thought of this even being a thing anywhere around me, including online circles.

Have you seen this happen to other trans folks?

I haven't seen it happen, but I don't know many other trans people IRL really. Or I suppose maybe I do and don't know that they're trans. People don't talk about it here one way or another, which is part of why I have no idea what to expect, even though everyone who knows about me is supportive. I just thought of it when I was thinking of all the many many things that could go wrong.

DA, and not trans myself.

But I think there's only so much you can do to protect your loved ones and it sounds like you're doing it. Ultimately they're all adults too and can handle themselves, it doesn't mean any potential issues they face aren't bad, but if anything does happen it isn't their fault and it certainly isn't yours. I won't say don't worry about it as it's not that simple when you're anxious about something, but anything potentially bad is going to be of other shitty people, not anything you could have possibly accounted for.

So take some of that weight off of your shoulders if you can and enjoy you time with your friends and family anon, it's going to be okay. :)
