Tea Time

It's tea time, FS! What's your favorite tea?

Re: Tea Time

(Anonymous) 2024-04-17 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I love me some chai. Iced in the summer, hot and cozy in the winter.

I love Eight Treasures tea, hot or iced. I love apple tea, green and black, iced. And I had been drinking iced rose green tea, but recently discovered that rose added to black tea really brings out both the smokiness and the lighter floral notes in the tea (plus black rose tea sounds cool af lol).

tea is like movies or Beatles songs to me, there are too many I love to just pick one favorite. that being said, I've been drinking Queen's Cake tea from Republic of tea a lot lately. It's yummy.

White tea (loose leaf preferably, though teabags from China are okay too), green tea (plain loose leaf, no floral/spice blends, please), and rooibos (oddly, I like some fruit blends because it's easy to make a tasty iced tea, and also cocoa blends in winter).

Some black teas are good too, and not just iced. Had a currant berry blend that was so good.

And of course sometimes I just make my own tea, with fresh ginger or fresh mint leaves.

I like Earl Grey too.
Haven't seen Russian Caravan in years, thought they didn't make it anymore!

I live in a pretty major metropolitan city and get two different types (one more smokey and one more fruity) from a local spice/tea/international ingredients shop. Not sure how difficult it is to get elsewhere.

I didn’t know about it at all until adulthood, when my aunt introduced me to it.

For a plain cup of tea, Lyons Irish Tea.

For herbal, Teapigs liquorish and mint.

The mug in my hand. A tea in the hand beats fancy leaves in a caddy.

Chai or matcha.

Re: Tea Time

(Anonymous) 2024-04-18 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
damn! I thought you were about to spill some tea lol

I love hibiscus and rooibos, especially elder Berry, blueberry and pomegranate. I love fruity herbal teas. And a nice chai every now and then

I'm allergic to it (though before the allergy developed, I could drink peach iced tea all day every day!)... so no tea for me anymore, but I love tea parties.

I sometimes bake using tea, though I have to be careful in using it, if I'm baking for other people, though, and when I do, I usually go with an Earl Grey-- it's the favorite tea of a couple of my favorite people, and I do love the aroma while I'm working with it!

Loving rooibos right now. I love trying new teas.

For black, I prefer blends with a healthy dose of Assam. I also have a great Assamblend with caramel flavour.
I never was much into green tea but I recently finally got to try osmanthus tea at a Chinese tea house and immediately ordered some osmanthus flowers after getting home that day. I love it AND I get around to drinking all the green tea people gave me as a present over the years.

I like fruity teas but I can't drink any of them without getting major heartburn... boo.

I mainly blame hibiscus, it's basically a filler in so almost all fruity teas and it's evil. I probably couldn't drink it either way but from my experience, hibiscus is the main culprit.
