...I think you are very misguided if you think Ana is Dean's love interest. She's less of a love interest than Bella was for Sam.

They slept together. Once. If that constitutes a relationship, then Dean must have been married to Cassie. (Not to mention the whole dynamic between Dean and Anna was pretty badly done, IMO. I don't hate Anna or anything - I think she's a super interesting character - but I just dislike the way they did that whole episode. :\)

Dean/Anna is the sorriest freaking excuse for a pairing I've ever seen in my life. It was pasted on and stupid, and I really don't give a damn that it's canon that they had sex (note: had sex; romance/love is not demonstrably canon, so STFU).

...lolwhat. Pretty much what everyone else said: they had sex once. If you ship it, have at it, but still. One-night stand =/= canon pairing.

I love this secret, if only because it's the only Supernatural one that I've seen in a while that has nothing to do with Wincest, or what-ever other slash pairings there are for that show. -Not even part of this fandom-

I know everybody's said this but...I'm having to wrap my mind around the idea of Anna as Dean's love interest. Seems more like their sex was totally not about being each other's love interest. I'd more easily see Castiel as Dean's canonical love interest than Anna. Also I didn't see Ruby as a slut.

Yes. Because if a woman has sex with two men, she's totally a tramp. We're supposed to find our One True Love and that's IT.

I do hope you think that Dean is a raging slut.

I love Anna and am mostly okay with the concept of Dean/Anna. She just hasn't been built up enough as a character for me to really appreciate her, nor do she and Dean really have a past history together or chemistry enough for me to ship them based on current canon. That could change and if it does, I'm perfectly down with it.

But IMHO, Castiel and Anna do have more history and angst than Dean and Anna. He leans on her for guidance even when he knows he shouldn't in 4x16, she gets in his face about doing the wrong things in 4x21, they fought side by side apparently for hundreds of years, she was his direct supervisor - there's a metric ton of interesting backstory there. And while I see it pretty much in a platonic sense, I can certainly understand the appeal.

In that light, Castiel/Anna is actually MORE canon to me than Dean/Anna. Dean and Anna might have bonded over distant, unknowable fathers and the joys of sex (in more ways than one), but they really only spent a few days together. Castiel and Anna though? Again, hundred of years.

Then again, I'm unusual because I don't particularly mind the concept of Castiel/Anna/Dean as a threesome. *shrug*

To get it out of the way, I have no OTP's on this show. I don't give a shit who calls Sam "Sammy" or who calls Castiel "Cas". I ship Dean/Castiel but prefer to see them as friends. I don't ship Dean/Sam but I have no problem with it. I also loved the characters Ruby and Anna though I think both were badly acted (in Ruby's case I actually preferred Gen over Katie shallowly because Gen is way hotter in my opinion). And Anna was badly written and acted (but I can't say I actually hated HaH because it takes a lot more for me to actually hate an episode).

Okay, I'm gonna go all Spock on ya, mkay? I think that Castiel/Anna is a hell of a lot more logical than Dean/Anna. Chemistry issues aside, the foundations for the relationship between Dean and Anna are about as strong as a wet, thin twig. Their bonding was mostly supported by a weak understanding of what the other was going through, and also, they were both horny and they dug each other. Sex does not equal love.

Castiel and Anna, however, have a "relationship" that is stronger, like brick wall sort of strong, because they really understand each other. Anna knows exactly where Castiel has been and where he's going because she's been right there in his shoes herself. Plus the fact that they spent, no not hundreds as someone posted, but most likely millions if not billions of years with him under her command (you gotta remember Angels are the oldest beings in the Universe besides God). So, she has what he needs (understanding and the ability to lead) and he has what she needs (someone to finally be on her side). Though now that she's been dragged back to Heaven (presumably), they should be wary of her intentions because she could be a double agent for Zachariah and his lot now.

Either way, the pairings I think make the most sense are these: Dean/Castiel for emotional depth; Castiel/Anna for true understanding and backstory; Dean/Alistair for mind fuckery (because Alistair does it so well, and he's well acquainted with Dean); Sam/Ruby because...well, she see seemed to be the only one on his side until the finale so...; Bobby/Ellen for age and attitude; and last but not least I'm sure Castiel/Lucifer because come on, incest and blasphemy AND good Angel with "bad" Archangel?? Yes please!

I don't give a crap about Dean/Anna, but the Castiel/Anna shippers are starting to piss me off, particularly those who harp on about their 'history'.

Anna told Dean that angels don't feel, she makes it very clear that she considers them 'marble statues' incapable of emotion. Castiel demonstrates that well enough throughout the first half of the season and even now his emotional range is pretty limited. Whatever 'history' they had, it's not romantic or sexual, because angels are not romantic or sexual, they're not even capable of it. Writers and actors alike have confirmed it. Besides, I'm no slash fan but even I can see that Castiel is pretty focused on Dean, though I don't think he's in love with, or even capable of falling in love with, Dean or anyone.

Dean/Anna was embarrassing with that scene in the Impala, but that doesn't mean you have to have an alternative. Why can we not have a single character on this show without the fans instantly demanding they be paired off or killed off?!
