Actually, I kinda wonder whether Harry wearing glasses had an effect on the real world. I wouldn’t know for sure, but I feel like kids bullying each other for wearing glasses is a lot less of a thing than when I was a kid. That doesn’t make any difference to OP’s point, it’s just something I’ve thought about and was reminded of.

Yeah, I wonder myself. But I am not sure that HP is the only thing that affected that.
Also when I was in uni I've seen kids bullying another kid calling her Harry Potter because of glasses.
