Spay/Abort should be practice at every shelter. If you are a shelter that is allowing dogs/cats to give birth, you are a BAD shelter. I don't care if the animal is one day from giving birth, if you can get it into surgery do a spay/abort.

Spay, yes, absolutely. A little wary about abort. Just don't know enough about the facts in relation to animals to know if I think it is a good idea, especially given how much shorter animal cycles usually are.

It doesn't hurt the adult. It means less animals in the system. It prevents the risks of giving birth.
