Books: re-reading Murderbot because it is easy and makes me laugh and I am super depressed.

Game: dipping in and out of Stardew Valley.

Fic: still on an old Wesley wump kick. Reading the most cliche old school h/c fic and loving it.

Reading a long Jason Todd centric fic at the same time.

Took a half day at work. Took a really long nap. Now I'm watching 911. Finally getting around to watching this season.

Oh, have fun! I've never watched it but everyone I know who does has been going nuts in a good way about this season.

Reading 'The Last Sorcerers: The Path from Alchemy to the Periodic Table'.

Oh that sounds interesting just based on the title. How is it so far?

I'm enjoying the writer's style. Easy to read and not dry like so many texts relating to chemistry can be. I'm on a wizard kick via various RPGs this year so it's a pretty fun book!

I just started reading 'More,' and so far it's making me feel perturbed. The prose is kind of juvenile, which isn't helped by the fact that the author decided to write it in first person present tense; and this stands in stark contrast to the fact that it's an adult woman with multiple children writing about the very adult subject of experimenting with open marriage. I was not expecting a sex memoir to be a YA-style text!

But beyond that, it's so far this totally uncomfortable, lopsided situation. She sleeps with this guy because it turns her husband on, and it makes her feel ashamed (she's definitely attracted to the guy, but it's clear she'd never have had sex with him if her horny spouse hadn't egged her on. She declares "this is for ME," but she can't even make the decision whether to fuck the guy without texting the husband first and asking whether she should go back up to his place!). Then, since she's now slept with someone, her husband is like, "is it okay if I sleep with my ex-girlfriend while you visit your sick mother?" And of course, she feels like she should be okay with it, so she says, "yup, sure," even though she's not okay with it at all; and when he does it, it devastates her. He responds by getting angry with her, saying he refuses to feel guilty about something she gave him permission to do -- but she only gave him permission because he manipulated her into it. She has no agency, and appears to be allowed no boundaries; it's all about what turns Fuckass on (and he's a total fuckass. She's Second Shifting all over the place with the house and kids, with him making sure to never arrive home before the kids are in bed).

There's a lot of book left, but so far I'm left wondering how it is that people have read this and found it empowering. I hope that means she eventually learns to stand up for herself and say "no."

That sounds like a hot mess.

Ugh, this reminds me of all the reddit relationship advice threads of people whose partners pressured them into an open/poly relationship because they wanted a carte blanche for cheating.

Playing Stardew Valley. I was lvl 85 of the Skull Caverns last night before I passed out on the same floor. SO FUCKING CLOSE.

Today was housecleaning day so I streamed MST3K as background noise. Now I'm watching Pelicans at Thunder (NBA game).

Dragon's Dogma 2, Leveling up a bew vocation and dying a lot because fighting drakes with limited weapon skills is a bit stressful.

Watching: Something in the Rain (k drama, the chemistry between the two leads is so cute but I don't want to deal with the incoming drama.)
