Favourite video game bosses

What are your favourite video game bosses? Be it the design, an interesting mechanic, a cool boss fight, the characterisation or the whole package.

Brought to you by my love for the Sphinx in Dragon's Dogma 2. She's just so unsettling without actually being gross or obviously creepy(TM) and I adore her.

Bongo Bongo in Ocarina of Time. It was such a unique fight to me growing up.

Sander Cohen in Bioshock was such a disturbing character. Gave me the same vibes as David from the Last of Us.

Oh man, FUCK DAVID. He's a great character and a great design because I hate him So. Much. My heart was pounding so hard when I had to go up against him.

Still love the Psycho Mantis fight from Metal Gear Solid. The mechanic is so simple, yet so wonderfully clever.

Gotta be the Mantis Lords. Whether you're fighting two or all three, they have this rhythmic quality to them that makes you feel like you're part of a dance where falling out of step carries a heavy penalty. And the OST accompanying the fight... first-rate! They're the Hollow Knight boss I have the most fighting, except for maybe Nightmare King Grimm.

I forgot one! Arthas in Icecrown Citadel. That was when I had a full raid guild and it was such a huge victory when we finally beat him. Plus, I love his cinematics.
