So sorry you are in so much pain.

When I'm in bad pain I try to watch something that is a favorite of mine and I can escape into. And then I also play some sort of mindless game that I can just get into and play without having to think.

If it is so bad I can't handle watching a screen, I'll just close my eyes, put on an eye mask and ear plugs, and just daydream.

Basically, I just want to go somewhere else, some other world, to get my mind off the pain.

Daydreaming is usualy my answer too. I usually have several daydream fic going and I like to flip from scene to scene as the mood strikes.

Daydreaming works well for me too. I also use it for panic attacks and to fall asleep when I'm having trouble. I have these whole stories created in my head this point that combine all my favorite fandoms.

Oh gosh one of my favorite "bedtime stories" (daydraleaming or mentally writing is how I fall asleep every night) is working out this massive crossover of all my favorite fandoms. It is all the cheesiest tropes that I can indulge in with only my own brain to judge me. But it has to follow some sort of internal logic, so its a fun puzzle to work on.

Yup. At this point I've got the stories all planned out (I've got one main universe with everything in it plus a couple other smaller ones that have more of tropes I really like), I just play through different parts in my head.
