It'll never cease to amaze that food bloggers complain about inflight/airport lounge/ or train food as being not very good, or basic, and then they show something that would be considered near five star cuisine back when I was in my twenties. All we had were sweaty cheese sandwiches made with stale bread and the cheapest margarine available, and if it were really exotic-a tuna mayo roll.

... it's almost as if they're comparing airport food with other food they've eaten in their own time period and region, instead of comparing it to the food you personally ate when you were in your twenties.

...which is part of why it's so hard for the young to believe that some things really have improved over time.

the only inflight food I've seen since 9/11 is tiny little bags of crackers.
