(Anonymous) 2024-05-08 02:03 am (UTC)(link)A person would absolutely have to hide that they're immortal. I like the difference in this film, that there are a group of others and it's not just one loner immortal like Highlander or Jack Harkness.
I think it would be fine to share this with your descendants...maybe. But you never know if you'd be resented. I think it's likely that resentment would be there.
People feel sorry for immortal vampires as much as they fear them, if they can't go out in the daylight or are forced to kill to feed. The loss of your loved ones, too, though there are plenty of mortals whose loved ones die first and leave them widowed too.
Anyway, I'd take Old Guard immortality, particularly because we know it eventually, VERY eventually wears off so you won't survive the heat death of the universe or something mental like that. I'd just live different lives and stay under the radar, and have a sweet amount of compound interest and real estate so I could live very comfortably. I would probably fight crime sometimes, too.
