I have one myself. I don't like fake phone numbers in TV and movies starting with 555. To me it's like a big neon sign saying THIS IS ONLY A TV SHOW. I like to lose myself in the idea that the show is really happening and this distracts me from it.

Maybe it would help to think of the 555 but as not being literal/diegetic. The character isn't actually saying 555, it's just being "translated" that way for convenience, so to speak. The same way as if you have a movie set in a fantasy world with no Earth languages but all the characters are speaking English onscreen.

It's a necessary weevil, though: just ask folks who got harassed to shit and back because they happened to have a number like 867-5309...
