What is the controversy and what is littles and age play? And what is the fandom? Basically I have no idea what is going on here. I am completely lost.

The movie is Poor Things so that is the fandom. I think it might be because the main character is a baby's brain in an adult body (initially). So kind of age play-y if you you squint and side eye it.

Littles is adults acting as babies/children/teenagers - not necessarily as a sexual fetish, though it's usually in a Littles/Caretaker dynamic with a partner. Age play is definitely a sexual kink of at least one partner pretending to be younger or older than they really are.

I dunno anything about this movie or fandom.

Littles - generally speaking a trope where people are classified as Littles (will have mentality of a child) or Bigs (regular adult). Almost exclusively non-sexual.

Age-Play - could include above, could be people roleplaying as child and caregiver, could be sexual or non-sexual.

Poor Things - a movie where a woman in an adult body has the mind of a baby and has lots sex with adult men.

I wouldn't say I'm part of ageplay or Littles fandom or groups, but I do like to read the kink/trope if its done in a certain way. Having said that...Poor Things creeped me the fuck out. I hated it.

I looked it up when it started getting hype during awards season. I guess, in a way, it's an exploration of identity and agency, but, damn, it's so full of do not want for me.

I went in knowing nothing about it but as a massive fan of the director. Crashingly disappointed in it, but I really like thinking about why it didn't work. It does feel reductive to be like 'lol look at this man trying to be femnist' but... female liberation through heterosexual sex & socialism is so fkn funny, like it truly does feel like every right-on dude I hung out with in my 20s got together and made a movie

To me, a Caregiver who has done sexual AND non-sexual ageplay with other Littles... it's fucking gross. Because that's a *whole child* in a grown woman's body, not a whole grown woman *pretending* or *consensually regressing* to a child-like state.
