Yeah, a lot of younger fans are used to near constant supervision, to adults swooping into protect them from anything that might be "unsafe" (including things that merely make them uncomfortable), and to those adults justifying such protection by telling them (explicitly and implicitly) that they're vulnerable and fragile.

They want to be able to explore the world independently with their peers, as all young people want to; but due to the above, they also want that exploration to take place within a walled garden, with guards standing at the ready.
