Spiritfarer secret! I love that game. But honestly kind of same. It wasn't that I was relieved to get passengers off the ship, and I did feel kind of sad when they said it was their time, but I don't recall crying a single time, not even a little.

This game keeps popping up in my Suggested lists and it looks so pretty, but I also just had two rather traumatic deaths in the family so I've been hesitant to play wondering if it would be a little too much. In all honestly, it sounds like I'd probably react similar to you. Need more room, get on through the gate!

I wished I like this game more. I didn't have a problem with the gorgeous visuals and the comfort it presented alongside its theme, I just... found it tedious to play. I love games where I can build houses and stuff and fish and just relax and the game has that, but I found the minigames to get the supplies to be maddeningly boring. I don't know why given I played the likes of stardew valley and Animal crossing with gusto, but Spiritfarer's management sim just didn't strike iron for me.

I enjoyed playing Spiritfarer a lot, but the order I did things in meant near the end I spent a lot of time waiting around with little to do and a mostly empty ship, so by the time I finished I was more just waiting for things to end than it feeling like a poignant send-off. Didn't feel very satisfying at that point.

Absolutely gorgeous animation, though.

That entire scene certainly spoke to a specific kind of fandom experience for me. When she summed the encounter up and basically confirmed that it's all bravado and he's "sexually vulnerable" I definitely thought "oh the villain fuckers are going to love this"

But River was also weird and method actory, so had he lived and Joaquin died, there's a possibility you'd be making the exact same secret, just with the names reversed.

Anyway, it's probably not great to wish people were dead because they're weird and method actory.
