They’ve been harassing writers and actors on the show for years, this is more than enough reason to never make their entitled bullshit canon. And if I was a show runner I wouldn’t.

Eh, I think being contrary and not doing something just because some fans are annoying is a pretty dumb move as a creator.

I think it's a pretty human response actually, if someone is being unreasonably rude to you or a friend you are under no obligation to ever do what that person wants. It's like being rude to a retail worker: they're not going to help you at all if you're rude to their face and I wouldn't ever fault them for that, they're not paid enough to put up with that kind of bullshit. And the same applies to TV shows: no creator is obligated to play nice with the people actively making the lives of their co-workers much more difficult and presuming otherwise is ascribing a bizarre level of forced grace onto a stranger.

It's pure entitlement to demand that writers cater to a specific subgroup in regards to the narrative of a show, and I don't think anyone behaving that way should ever be rewarded for their bullshit.

NAYRT

I get that, but if it's the story they want to tell then it's not about "rewarding" the badly behaving fans.

If all writers did that, no ship would ever be canon. No more romantic relationships in fiction ever!

Although, there's another subset of fans that would unironically love that.
