Where/how do you find your books to read?
(Anonymous) 2024-05-19 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)I follow a few subreddits where people ask for specific suggestions and I'll make note of ones that sound interesting, but otherwise I just kind of browse my library in hopes that something jumps out at me.

I also buy new things from authors I already know I like.
Sometimes when I'm browsing something like tvtropes and I see something listed on a trope that is a favorite of mine, I'll buy it to check it out.
And then sometimes I just love to browse Half Priced Books and find some stuff that looks fun.

(Anonymous) 2024-05-20 01:16 am (UTC)(link)Usually I find new stuff through GoodReads. The new releases tab through my account lists new books by authors I've read previously, plus new things in genres I've selected that I like. There's also the most popular and most read by date lists that I check occasionally, and I will check the news and interviews page, which has all kinds of lists (new stuff by specific genre, or books based around a certain theme, or an interview with an author where they will talk about their newest book, and books that they like/that inspired them).
But honestly, new books that I find through these sites ending up just being added to my never ending list of books that I want to read and/or will get eventually. I already have so many that I haven't read that I really don't need to actually look for new recs for years.
