Enid Blyton secrets anon(s)

Saw the Hulu trailer for the new BBC series of The Famous Five (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKulJXtXeiE) and wondered if you’d seen it and what you’d thought about it.

Haven't seen it but looking at the reviews I probably won't bother, it's apparently pretty bad. People especially criticise the acting, in particular Jack Gleeson and from the snippets I've seen, damn are they right.

Ah, well. At least you can always go back and reread the books.

It was crap. They did George so dirty. Not the racebending, that was fine, but they really toned down George's tomboyishness and fierceness to an absurd degree. They basically became Anne but older. It sucked. What else do I expect from a BBC that is less progressive on gender roles today than it was when Enid was actually writing.
