I really wanted to like this but it just didn't work for me. But tbf I only tried the first cpuple of eps - does it get better? I know a lot of shows - comedies esp - need a bit of time to find their groove.

Same. It takes a certain combination to click to shipping and getting fannish. Mostly I just enjoy the show/game/etc and don't think about it much.
