And here I thought this had to be sarcasm.

I grew up when the Simpsons were considered really deep and unusual and universities were trying to tempt prospective students with whole courses about the show. And I thought it was crass and uninspired back then, too. So, if other people think so now, I have no idea what's changed, but I'm not really inclined to believe they're wrong.
