Yeah, you'd think people would get that but no. I think the whole "angels/heaven are the real bad guys" thing might be to blame because a lot of people tend to take this as "the guys in heaven are worse so all denizens of hell must be innocent precious babies" when that's... not at all what it is.

(The whole thing reminds me of Hannibal fandom people getting their panties in a twist about certain unsavoury aspects of the characters. In a show about a murderous manipulative cannibal.)

IME, most fandoms for darkish media these days get a few precious twits who need to be outright told that everyone else is here to enjoy the villains, and that no amount of "but they're evil" is going to stop people from, you know ... enjoying the villains.
