I mean I can't say I'm surprised to hear a book by Klune is not very good but I guess I'm glad it still gave you an enjoyable experience.

I mean I watch a LOT of movies that are Not Good, but that I have fun with, so... sometimes you just want to have FUN and you don't need it to be that deep?

Do you have beef with the author? I have not stakes, just being nosey.

I read one of his (Cerulean Sea) and while I enjoyed it and the ending was very satisfying, I did find the pacing rough at times.

His works are.......... super one-note, technicality-wise. Honestly, he should have stuck with his comedy-fantasy writing, because at least his choppy writing style fit the lent to some amusing pacing and flow to the story and dialogue. The Lightning Struck Heart was the first book I read by him and it was fucking hilarious. I tried to read Wolfsong afterwards and I thought it was written by some weird ass artsy tumblr-famous wannabe who was trying to be pretentious and then found out that's just what he calls 'serious' writing.
