Obvious troll is obvious (showing my age, lol! ;) but I will give a sincere response because sometimes I feel conflicted about this, too. The older I get, the less I care that people might judge me for being a Fandom Old. Age brings perspective, and you realize there are more important things to worry about.

The first time I ever posted fanfic, I was in my mid 20s, and already felt like I was "too old" for it and doing something meant for teens. Even though the BNFs in my fandom were in their 30s-40s! (It was a newer fandom, so obviously those older fans came to it as adults too.)

Yes, I sometimes have feelings that "I'm too old for this," but mostly I just focus on creating things and having fun.

Signed, 40+ and still in fandom

I too sometimes have the "I'm too old for this" feeling, but its usually in response to drama I've seen come around time and time again but its all new to the kids. Or to frustrating trends like the purity brigades.

But at the end of they day I just trim my circles to avoid that nonsense and go on with my fun hobby.

Recently some Zoomer online said I should go and take care of my kids, instead of doing fandom stuff.
And for a second I wondered if that's really all those kiddies think women after a certain age are good for. What a bleak prospect.
