Re: Speaking of age perceptions

What makes me feel old is people younger than me talking about feeling old and calling themselves old. I'm on social media a lot, so I feel old a lot.

And yet, my mom is turning 70 this year, and what she had to say about it was "I can't believe I used to think 70 was old!" while laughing. And I realized I've never thought of her as old either. I wonder if it's because she's not surrounding herself with people who imply that she's old nearly as much as I am.

Yeah-- when I look at my mom, I think wow, 70 is actually pretty young!

But when I hear it's a significant anniversary for a movie/franchise/song from the year I was born, I admit to feeling a little old. Not because I think my age is so great, but because it's like... that's the only time I really THINK about my age!
