Both of those pixel characters look like they could be 12 if you told me they were 12, or 21 if you told me they were 21. I just believe a character is whatever age canon says they are, and it's only weird if their personality REALLY jarringly contradicts their supposed age (just being immature in a general sense doesn't count; immature adults are common).
