Today is the start of my vacation and I'm off until the second week of June.

Months ago I booked a room at the Hyatt Regency in my city and I'm checking in this evening. It will be nearly empty while I'm there because it's between conventions, and my city is big but not exactly a tourist destination anyway, so it will be quiet and peaceful. I am going to hang the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and lay in my king size bed and read fic, watch movies, sleep, nap, eat the occasional meal and hide out from everything while I relax and rejuvenate. I have a spa date Monday where I'm treating myself to a massage, a pedicure, and a new full set of nails. I can't wait!

Omg that sounds heavenly. You don't have the stress of traveling far but you still get the joy of a getaway and being alone and luxury. I applaud you and hope you have a grand time.

Thats exactly it, there's no hassle! I can go back home if I need anything and be back in 45 minutes. Its cheap if you book far enough in advance, and this will be the 5th time I've done it. And I got upgraded this evening to a bigger room with a much nicer view of the city because the room hadn't sold, so yay! Thanks, I am going to have a great time!
