"Would it be possible for you to link to secrets marked as spoilers (like the way you do for porn secrets), instead of just labelling them as spoilers right above the image? By the time you see the label, you've already seen the image and then it's too late. :("

[Poll #1444305]

Suggested:
- increase space between spoiler warning and secret
- move all spoilery secrets to the end of the post
- make spoiler warning text more noticeable (big and red?)

But it says outside the cut 'secrets may contain spoilers'. That ought to be enough, right? It's worked until now.

Ahh, that is a good point, actually.

This.

I... fourth? this. I've always considered the above-cut warning good enough, and I know I'm taking my chances when I read posts here. I've actually been spoiled once or twice, but I figure, if I don't like it, hey, no one's forcing me to be here. It's worth it to me to risk it.

Yes - this.

Besides, what one person may not consider a spoiler, someone else definitely will.

I've seen people consider the most inane things to be spoilers. So where do you draw the line?

[identity profile] reppu.livejournal.com 2009-08-15 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. You read at your own risk. Porn is a bit different because people could be at work or something, but everyone should know by now that [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets could contain secrets spoilers.

Totally Agree

Yes, but now you're bringing logic and common sense in to this, what's the point in that?

Agreed.

Disagreed. An all-purpose warning doesn't really do anyone any good. Are we supposed to just not read fandomsecrets until we've played/read/watched every single game/book/show we might not want to be spoiled on?

(Anonymous) 2009-08-16 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually agree here. It's good for covering the mod's back if someone wants to cry about being spoiled, but it really doesn't do the visitors any good for specific fandoms.

[identity profile] netbug009.livejournal.com 2009-08-16 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
This.

[identity profile] feanorian.livejournal.com 2009-08-16 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. Mods, if you feel like doing something, putting the pre-spoiler-secret warning in big red text sounds good.

TL;DR -
I've been spoiled for SPN, BSG, Bleach, FMA, other anime i'm not going to admit to watching, and some old-school shit that wouldn't get spoiler warnings anyway (X Files, i'm looking in your direction). All from this comm. Do i hate spoilers? Oh yes. Do i blame the comm when i'm a few eps behind in popular shows & get spoiled? No. It was my choice to come to such a spoileriffic place as this.

I agree with the above.
