Norm was legitimately my favourite character.

I think anything is better than Maximus's extremely dull plotline. Maximus is just dull.

I did like Norm's plotline a lot, though. And especially intercut with the stuff from Cooper's plotline. I'm dying to see if Chet pieces together some of this stuff in S2, too.

Related and, despite what our resident decrier thinks, sincerely, there is a salvageable movie in Song of the South. It'd just take a lot of work and sensitivity to reach it. It is a shame it got vaulted, because there is a lot of overlooked African American folklore and folk knowledge in that movie. More people should be exposed to it. It is a lot more subversive than you think. Disney ought to just start backing trucks full of money up Jordan Peele or Tyler Perry's driveways until one of them agrees to write/direct the remake with less rose tinted framing story. However, it is worth doing.
