(Anonymous) 2024-06-16 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)Yeah it absolutely works best for certain genres, like comedy or murder mystery are built to be episodic and work better when they are. Trying to make either serialized can be iffy but I wouldn't say it can't work, but it would need to be done carefully.
While fantasy shows work best as serialized and sci-fi can work as either. It's really dependant on the show itself.

Other times I want to get sucked into serialized shows where I need to pay attention to every episode carefully for a satisfying overall viewing experience.
