Hmmm, that's pretty good! It definitely works!

My tastes tend to be a little more...deranged? In an ideal world where I was a fantastic writer, all my fic climaxes would be of the "my jaw dropped and I clapped a hand on my face and said 'oh my god' at my screen several times" variety. I'm less enamored with the "thank god they finally said the right thing to each other" route to resolution.

But your suggestion works with the story in question, and I have yet to figure out how to finagle a big, crazy, holyshitholySHIT climax out of the story in question. So maybe your way wins this one. :)

What if there were hints of the resolution scattered in fic that become obvious only after readers finish it? Then they are in awe and have to re read it with their new knowledge.
