You know what would be really funny? If somebody have downloaded/saved the fic before it was removed and reuploaded it.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the author didn't think this one through. Especially since there's a good chance you can find it through the Internet Archive.

The author can have that scrubbed quite easily.

I dunno, I was able to find some deleted fic without much hassle. I didn't reupload it of course, because the author was clear they took it down for a reason. (But as far as I know, they didn't file the serial numbers and then hold the original fic hostage for book sales, either.)

I wouldn't reupload, but I would private message and share with anyone I saw looking for it...

Anyone who does that shit when authors pull to publish sucks. I personally dislike serial numbers filed off fanfic sold as original fic. And still think it’s shitty if someone reuploads the deleted fic.

Nah. The internet has been around long enough that everyone should be well aware of what they're doing when they put something out there. Once you've posted a work, it's fair game.

Is that you, Cassie?

Man, I miss the days when it was understood that if you posted it on the web then you had made it public domain. I hate how possessive and precious people get these days. The Web's Prime Directive was: Once it is Out There, it is Out There.

And also, the Web interprets censorship as damage, and routes around it.
