I tend to get into a fandom because it has things I like - I'm pretty sure that's just how fandom works. But within fandoms as the characterization evolves and different writers take different takes, I'll be exposed to new ideas and often I will latch onto one interpretation or trope and really fall in love with it for that specific character. It's not something I start looking for elsewhere, but I will hunt the whole fandom for it with that specific character/s.

Also some kinks or tropes work for me with certain set ups or characterizations but not others. So like I'll look for D/s and praise kink in every fandom I go to, but I only really looked for let's say mpreg in X fandom.
