I haven't kept up with all the Star Wars side projects. Has the red lightsaber thing ever actually been used as a dramatic reveal? Honestly, that seems like it would require more subtlety in character development than Lucas was ever interested in showing, and Disney!Wars didn't exactly up the ante in that respect.

That said, Lucas did lean pretty hard on the primary colors as motifs thing, which must fail spectacularly if you're color blind.
