I'll evangelize for Vampire Survivors again. There's little in the way of plot, what there is gets a bit goofy (the Vampire of the title literally never shows up) and the gameplay is super simple, but also quite fun.

Detroit Become Human pretends to be a "serious" game but it's one of the most unserious games I've ever played.

Eh, it deals with heavy themes like child abuse, sexual abuse, murder, and genocide. Even if it's ham-fisted, the themes are there.

Little Kitty, Big City

Manor Lords doesn’t have any Heavy themes but it does require a lot of strategic thinking. But be prepared to watch YouTube and join the subreddit.

Lego City Undercover is one of the best games of all time. I will die on this hill. It’s Grand Theft Auto for kids with a whole bunch of Lego’s wry humor thrown in (is that you, Morgan Freeman?).
