I was going to say that Jude Law/RDJ are two of the most shippable Sherlock and Watson, and not just on looks alone! (Of course, this is because they actually played it as a romance)

I don't know if I'm alone in my purism, but I was never able to see the character RDJ plays as Sherlock Holmes. On paper he has many of book Holmes' qualities, but in practice they’re nothing alike. That would disqualify those movies from Holmes/Watson shipping for me.

But then I do not share OP's problem. I'm perfectly happy with either of the Granada Watsons.

I don’t know if it’s the writing, the acting, the direction or some combination of the three, but RDJ never lets you forget for a moment that he’s RDJ playing Sherlock Holmes in that movie. And I’ve seen enough of his movies to know that he isn’t always like that, so I’m thinking it had to be a deliberate choice on someone’s part.
