I've never done this in relation to toilet activities, but I definitely do this sometimes with other stuff; imagine my blorbos doing the same activity I'm doing, and derive comfort from it. Especially when I'm anxious or struggling in some way. It's a relatively decent self-comforting technique, IMO.

For me it’s somehow more bearable to do dishwashing and other chores while pretending I’m someone else.
