Ergh, allow me to rephrase since I think the opinion of hating a couple because of one artist/piece of art is kind of...dumb and projecting personal feelings on to a fictional thing...

when I said she 'changes', i meant 'changed', in that picture, in my eyes as I explained below. I fully expect to get raped up the ass for this opinion because this is [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets and all anyone ever does here is rape everyone else with their e-cocks.

By posting your opinion publicly you're inviting anybody to respond in whatever way they want, and by responding to them you're inviting them to continue. If you feel you've made your point and have nothing else to say on the matter, and don't want to continue being "raped up the ass," nobody is forcing you to comment.

By replying to your argument, I'm doing just that; inviting anyone else to respond however they feel is necessary.

I don't see at all how that pic really changes any character. Though I can't be sure, because I don't know the context the picture is supposed to take place in, it looks to me as though something similar to Yoruichi leaving again is happening, since neither of the two look happy and Soi is clinging, holding Yoruichi back.

Also, I'd like to agree that hating a fandom because of a single piece of artwork or fiction is ridiculous. No matter what a person's opinion of a character or pairing is, somebody else is bound to have one that's different. Get over it. And if you can't, then don't put yourself in a position where you will be exposed to these pieces.

That said, if you disagree with my interpretation of the picture, fine. If you feel the need to dispute it with me, fine, but know that I likely won't care and won't respond. If you agree, fine. It really doesn't matter. Unless Tite Kubo himself comes out and says, "hey, that fan-art is wrong," and then proceeds to describe in great detail the characters of Soi Fong and Yoruichi, and their relationship, nothing is set in stone.

If I come off as offensive, sorry. But to me, anime is an escape. And making such a huge deal about it is not what escapism is about. Enjoy it in your own way, and if someone else enjoys it a different way, let them and move on. Serious business like this is why I generally tend to dissociate myself from fandoms.

And that's my three cents. Yeah, that's right. Three, not two.

Note: I was being purely sarcastic about that comment, and I really don't mind opening discussion on this sort of thing. really, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Now that that's settled....

I don't see at all how that pic really changes any character. Though I can't be sure, because I don't know the context the picture is supposed to take place in, it looks to me as though something similar to Yoruichi leaving again is happening, since neither of the two look happy and Soi is clinging, holding Yoruichi back.

The art is good. The pic isn't entirely OOC, because it's not like Soi Fong doesn't have attachment to Yoruichi. Perhaps people are misinterpreting what I am saying, concerning the fact that I'd have to be blind to not see that Soi Fong is attached to Yoruichi and hurt that she left her in the first place. It's just the portrayal. I'd feel the same if I were looking at, let's say, a Naruto/Sasuke art and it was Naruto clinging to Sasuke. Sure, he never wanted him to leave, but to me I just wouldn't enjoy the clinginess portrayed in the picture because of personal taste. The picture is a good picture, I'm not trying to kill it with fire.

Well, obviously the anonymous commenter had some personal vendetta or something against the artist, and is projecting their own feelings on to a pairing, which is pretty, um, I would say unhealthy but that's basically normal for the internet mindset. But yeah, the art is actually good so even if I don't like the position the characters are in in the picture, I'm not going to be put off of a pairing. Besides, YoruSoi is too awesome :B

Rofl, wow. I never said it was a wrong interpretation of their relationship. To quote myself above, "I think the artist is good, but that picture definitely gives me the wrong vibe of the couple. But then again, everyone has different interpretations of the pairing, you know? I'm in love with it as an old flame relationship, something that can't be recreated but the feelings still linger; that way it's more bittersweet and romantic to me, I guess? But that's not how it is with everyone. I just see Soi Fong as a woman of duty, now, and Yoruichi as a woman who roams"

Yeah, I'm reallllyy bashing the art and saying that it's the most wrongest portrayal of how Yoruichi and Soi Fong REALLY are forever and ever!!

And no, you're not coming off as offensive, just really defensive. I never stopped anyone from enjoying the art, or enjoying the pairing in a way I don't enjoy it. You're kind of the one making this serious business, and I'm sorry if I offended you over this.

Three cents used to be able to buy coffee back in my day.

The comment about agreeing or disagreeing with my interpretation of the picture was more a general comment to anyone who reads the comment. I respect that you have your own interpretation. That was the point I was trying to make with my post: everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If it came off circling around that point or making other points, I blame the fact that I'm extremely tired.

I'm not offended over the issue, and I'm really not being defensive, I'm saying that something like hating a pairing because of one piece of fan-art is ridiculous. It's open for interpretation unless it's portrayed in canon. That's all their is to it.

Ah, apologies, then. I thought you somehow were affiliating me with that anonymous comment and thinking that I wasn't allowing people their own interpretations or that I was dumb enough to let one picture (that's not even bad at all) ruin a fandom for me. Sorry bb.
