I think modern fandom peeps are just unable to understand how to write concrit. Your job is not to tell the author what to write that YOU would like, but to tell them how to better the story while keeping their vision in mind.

Many of them just want the author to do what they want but this is disguised as concrit.

nayrt but yup. It's perfectly fine if you're turned off by something the author wrote. But... it's like... rant elsewhere about it? Or better yet, get very friendly with a back button.
