How was your Monday, F!S crew? Anything exciting happening this week for you?

Mine was a boring ol run of the mill Monday. I have a dentist appointment later this week which isn't normally exciting, but this is the first time I'm going with dental insurance so that's fun.

Stock take so I am very tired and off to bed soon. I've got more tomorrow so it's just going to be a very tiring start to my week, but hey, I get thursday off so there's that and it's my weekend off this rota too.

I'm playing the new ff expansion atm after work and loving it, I'm having a good time and enjoying seeing where the story goes and I recently changed my WoL to a hroth!Gal(tiger woman) and I absolutely love it.

My period arrived last night so today was a bit of a bitch. I've not fallen asleep yet. And I'm plagued by lewd images and massive cravings for potato chips and soda. Listening to Duran Duran isn't helping at all, lol.

Let's see. I barely slept last night. My ipod broke. And I lost my temporary crown. Also, we have repairmen still here, so I had to park out front and can't even get in my pajamas and into bed because I'll have to move my car once they leave. And I'm having hormone issues. And I've had a massive headache all day.

Well it was going fine until I just watched a reddit post about a woman who can't eat and has to inject nutrient solution into her heart, and when she described her symptoms they match almost exactly the symptoms I've been having with food and now I am just filled with panic that I am going to have total intestinal failure at some point and end up dead because I can't afford medical care like that.

*deep breathe* So I'm gonna go and distract myself somehow now because those are not helpful thoughts. Be careful what you click on, kids!

I'm still recovering from a cold I had over the weekend and my brain wasn't switched on at work so I entered two docs that weren't up to our new fees. I'm at least a little better today (Tuesday) but my backside isn't that great...

I returned to work after a week long break and I had to start in a new area.

It's easy enough work but this area's breaks and lunch run different from what I'm used to, so my first day back at work was slow.

Also, for like 24 hours, I had to pee A LOT ever hour to hour and a half.
I'm doing better now, but I hated that every hour I had to rush to the restroom with a full bladder. I hope it was due to all the Gatorade and water I drank over the weekend.

The talk of LJ and DW made me wonder, what was your personal favorite time in fandom? Message Boards? Webrings? Email groups? LJ? Tumblr? Tiktok? etc etc etc

Message boards were nice for late 90s through early 00s. Then a mix of message boards and LJ from there through the early 10s. mIRC was around but folks came and went college and life happened. I liked being able to get into conversations without it being a damn race to type.

Probably 2015-2020. When Tumblr was big, Ao3 was around, and tiktok puriteens were not rampant.

LJ. Maybe forums/message boards, but LJ is really where I found my people. The only thing it was missing was ao3. I sometimes wonder about the rise of ao3 and the fall of LJ/DW type communities. The writing and sharing was totally different before we all had one giant place to host it all, and a lot of fandom talk and memes happened in the comments of fics.

Not that I'm blaming ao3, I love the place, it's just interesting to think about.

Mine were message boards, Private/Direct Messages, AIM (I was sad when my chat groups transitioned our convos to MSN Messenger), and Geocities fan sites.

I loved LJ fandom. The way it was focused around communities instead of individuals was really peak. If I could have LJ fandom + A03 I'd be in heaven.

MP3 player

Hey,
So a while back someone linked me to an MP3 player they said was very good and had the capacity for a lot of music. I can't find the link, seem to have deleted it from my email.

Can that person link it to me again? Or can someone just point me in the direction of a good, affordable mp3 player with a good storage amount (or the ability to add to the storage in a way that is fairly easy to figure out).
