Look up the making of TRTED to see some fun stuff of the actors working together.

I have this problem with songs in Tarzan, The Lion King, and El Dorado where the singer isn't a character in the movie. It just feels incongruous. The songs can be stunning (hell, the Tarzan soundtrack is actually genius) but some random asshole singing over the animation just takes me out of it. Beauty and the Beast could have used Celine Dion for the title track, but it would never have worked anywhere as well as hearing it from Mrs. Potts.

Totally agree. Phil Collins narrating the innermost workings of the characters' hearts just does not work, imo.
