I have to confess that when I write fic I don't get it Britpicked (because I openly write the stuff for relaxation and I have to be detail oriented all the time at work.) But I'm honest about it, and I also, you know, MAKE A FRIGGING EFFORT. What amazes me about the reverse is, it's not even like North American media/books are hard to find! It's not hard to at least get a flavour of the way those characters might speak. Particularly in something that's being formally published. Wow.
