Huh?

Is this secret two different peeves? I'm not sure I follow either paragraph.

No

It's about people using their hatred of an individual to justify attacking fans of that individual/their work .

Or to turn the conversation away from ppl being hurt for being fans of a thing to why the individual who created that thing is bad

Does this explanation make sense?

I was also a little confused because of the mention about artists. Your explanation is what I thought you meant but I felt like I was missing part of the secret.

I felt this was about people like the creator of Hazbin Hotel, who keeps being harrassed for past "transgressions" from her time before the show and people using this to say everyone who now watches the show supports the same "transgression" etc.

When I heard Rebecca Sugar used to draw DaZr I got happy because so did I, and it was interesting to see a big artist's old "cringe" art, as a nonprofessional artist that still makes "cringe" art.

It was so annoying when people started to hold it against her or use it to "prove" she was an awful person. Especially because by then it was a pretty old art anyway.
